Simon Caron (guitarist, songwriter)

Born in Ste-Foy in October 1967, Simon got really interested in guitar playing at the age of 16 while listening to the great musicians of this period.

His musical influences are Pink-Floyd, Camel, Marillion, Iq, Pendragon, Elvis Presley, BB King and Albert Collins.

He had his first band in 1985 and the group was called Fénix. In 1988, he created the group Océan; in both cases, the bands played progressive music. Simon also produced jingles for advertisements.
Then, for several years Simon has worked less actively in the field of music but he came back with renewed force in 2004. He now focusses his efforts on progressive music, the one which gives him the most satisfaction and pleasure. He wrote the words and the music of what was to become the album Mirror of Insanity. Of course, he needed a band so he contacted some musicians and RED SANDd was born.

According to Jean-François Lamarre from Terra incognita, a magazine dedicated to progressive rock: "The crystalline tones of guitar or the beautiful lyrical inspirations punctuated by effects of vibrato are numerous and constitute one of the main assets of this first album."

According to the site Progpulsion : "Magnificient guitar solos ... and what a solist!"

After Mirror of Insanity, it produced; Gentry in 2005 and Human Trafficking in 2006.

Simon is writing non-stop so we should soon enjoy many hours of great listening.
